Muruwwah is recognized in Islamic sources as one of the noble traits of character (*makārim al-akhlāq*), and the present study aimed to develop and validate a conceptual model of it based on these sources. Employing a qualitative approach via conventional content analysis, the research analyzed narrative sources of above-average reliability, utilizing open coding, categorization, and theme formation. The findings demonstrate that the conceptual model of Muruwwah consists of five main categories—antecedents (comprising cognitive and dispositional factors), contexts (positive and negative), core elements (spiritual, economic, socio-relational, and motivational-emotional), indicators (spiritual, economic, and socio-relational), and consequences (spiritual, material, and psychological)—along with their defined interrelationships. Following evaluation by nine experts using indices of congruence and necessity, the model’s main categories were validated, despite the elimination of some specific concepts. Ultimately, these findings suggest that Muruwwah is a multidimensional ethical-psychological model that, when reinforced, can foster improved interpersonal and social relationships as well as enhance moral and psychological well-being.
