Abstract
Today, most families around the world are facing the challenge of raising their children; it is undeniable that the requirement for successful upbringing of children is the correct understanding of the different aspects of education and the correct knowledge of the culture and society in which they live. Therefore, considering the importance and role of cultural background in how to raise and educate children, the present research was conducted with the aim of identifying conventional styles of parenting in Iranian families. The current study was a qualitative design that was conducted using content analysis and latent analysis methods. On the one hand, the target population consisted of 7 psychologists, 6 religious experts, and 8 Iranian parents, with whom a semi-structured interview was conducted using purposive sampling until saturation was reached. And on the other hand, by studying sources, teachings and Islamic texts in a library method, suitable methods of parenting were collected. The analysis of the findings in the first part led to the discovery of six main classes such as; The parenting style was based on intimacy and understanding, kindness, companionship and support, recognizing children's growth, having a stable and reasonable plan, and parenting was based on spiritual education, Also, by analyzing Islamic sources, educational styles such as; Responsible parenting, parenting based on ethics, friendship and love, parenting based on strength, cheerfulness and order, honoring and respecting children, justice between children and other such factors were confirmed and emphasized. Finally, it can be said that since the identified content has been discovered and extracted based on Islamic texts and lifestyles as well as direct interviews with psychological experts, religious experts and Iranian parents, the results of the research can be a suitable platform, in order to fill the existing cultural gaps in the field of parenting in Iranian society.
