Basic Psychological Needs and Fashion Orientation: The Mediating Role of Social Feedback Need and Social Media Addiction among Instagram Users

The study aimed to predict fashion orientation based on the satisfaction of basic psychological needs, with the mediating roles of social feedback need and social media addiction among Instagram users. The research employed a descriptive-correlational design. The statistical population included university students in Tabriz, and 397 participants were selected using a multi-stage cluster sampling method, based on Kline’s recommendation. Data were collected using the Social Feedback Need Scale for Social Media, the Social Media Addiction Scale, the Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction Scale, and the Fashion Orientation Scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS-24 and AMOS-24 through path analysis. The results revealed significant correlations among the study variables (p < 0.01). Findings indicated that the satisfaction of basic psychological needs explained 19% of the variance in fashion orientation directly and 65% indirectly through the mediating roles of social feedback need and social media addiction. According to bootstrap and Sobel tests, these mediating effects were partial and statistically significant (p < 0.05). In conclusion, Instagram users whose basic psychological needs are not fully satisfied tend to seek more social feedback on social media, and as their dependence on these platforms increases, they exhibit a stronger inclination toward fashion orientation.

Development and Validation of the Hilm Questionnaire in the Domain of Anger Based on Islamic Sources

In Islamic culture, "Hilm" (forbearance) is a concept closely related to emotion regulation, particularly anger management. This study focuses on the development of a "Hilm" questionnaire within the domain of anger, employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. In the qualitative phase, using the "conventional qualitative content analysis" method, a conceptual model of "Hilm" was derived from Islamic sources, with an emphasis on anger control. Based on the findings of the qualitative study, a 60-item questionnaire was developed and administered to a sample of 824 participants recruited from the social media platforms "Eitaa", "WhatsApp", and "Telegram". Through"exploratory factor analysis (EFA)", four main factors—"Cognitive Management, Forgiveness, Anger, and Thought Rigidity"—were identified. Additionally, three sub-factors emerged for the first factor: "Conscious Control, Non-engagement, and Empathy". Content validity was assessed using the "Content Validity Index (CVI)". To evaluate criterion validity, a measure of "aggression" was simultaneously administered to a subset of 176 participants, confirming the expected relationships. Convergent and divergent validity evidence was provided and deemed satisfactory. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was confirmed with a "Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.959". Reliability at the factor and sub-factor levels was also assessed and validated.

Investigating the psychometric properties of the acculturation stress scale in Afghan immigrants living in Iran

The large-scale migration of Afghans following four decades of war and insecurity has presented them with numerous challenges in their host countries. One of these challenges is acculturation stress, which can affect the mental and physical health of immigrants. The aim of the study was to examine the validity and reliability of the acculturation stress questionnaire among Afghan immigrants living in Iran. The statistical population included all Afghans over 18 years of age living in Iran, from whom 510 people were selected using convenience sampling (252 people for exploratory and confirmatory analysis of the seven-factor model and 258 people for confirmatory analysis of the four-factor model). Data were collected through an online link and a printed version at the Afghan embassy. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the seven-factor model is not confirmed; However, exploratory factor analysis extracted a four-factor structure including “perception of discrimination”, “longing for homeland/compatriot”, “distress and insecurity”, and “feeling of alienation”, which explained a total of 57.042% of the variance. The reliability of the subscales was between 0.80 and 0.92 and the internal consistency of the entire scale was 0.95. The findings indicate that this tool can be useful in identifying cultural stresses of Afghan immigrants and designing supportive interventions.

The purpose of the present study was to provide a model for marital satisfaction based on adult attachment styles, attachment styles to God, and trust in God in married men and women in Tehran. The research method was of a fundamental type, which according to the data collection method, was placed in the group of descriptive-correlational research and was carried out using the structural equation modeling method. The research population included all married men and women of Tehran city in the north, south, east, west, and center regions, from which 773 people were selected using the multi-stage cluster sampling method. The results of data analysis using partial least squares showed that adult attachment styles and trust in God lead directly and indirectly to marital satisfaction. Also, the trust in God variable has a partial mediating role in the relationship between styles of attachment to God and marital satisfaction, and this mediating role was more significant in women than in men. In addition to these, other direct and indirect paths (mediator, moderator, moderated mediator) leading to the variables of marital satisfaction, trust in God, attachment styles of adults, and attachment styles to God, were analyzed by considering important variables such as gender, age, education and duration of marriage. Reliability and convergent and divergent validity of the variables were investigated using composite reliability, average variance extracted, and heterotrait-monotrait ratio (HTMT). The model had adequate reliability and construct validity. Also, the data had acceptable fit indices and the variables were sufficiently independent.

Strategic model of Family Role Institutionalization in Islamic-Iranian Lifestyle: Identifying Optimal Strategies and Effective Governance Models

Abstract:The present study aimed to identify and explain the optimal strategy for institutionalizing the role of the family in achieving the Islamic-Iranian lifestyle. Given the pivotal importance of the family as the primary setting for individual and social development, this study adopted a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, to examine the challenges and opportunities ahead. In the qualitative phase, a comprehensive SWOT analysis was used to identify and explain internal strengths (e.g., a deep connection with religion and culture) and weaknesses (e.g., insufficient attention to psychological needs), as well as external opportunities (e.g., technological advancements and the capacity of non-governmental organizations) and threats (e.g., cultural invasion and rapid social changes). In the quantitative phase, the AHP technique was employed to weight the indicators and prioritize the four strategies (aggressive, conservative, competitive, and defensive). The results clearly showed that the aggressive (SO) strategy, as the most preferred and effective approach, received the highest score. This strategy focuses on maximizing the use of internal strengths to capitalize on external opportunities, proposing a proactive and forward-looking approach to strengthening the family institution. Finally, based on the selected strategy, the research offers a set of governance recommendations across seven key areas—political, cultural, economic, social, structural, research, and educational—which can serve as an operational framework for policymakers and executive bodies. This research provides valuable insights for strategic planning and effective actions in this field.

The present study was conducted with the aim of examining the feasibility of implementing a religious coping protocol based on the Holy Quran in reducing perceived stress. The research method was a single-subject, multiple-baseline experiment. The research instruments were the Milon Clinical Multiaxial Questionnaire, the Perceived Stress Scale, and the religious coping protocol. Purposive sampling was conducted and 3 people were selected from among the stressed clients of the Samah Qom Counseling Center. Each client was randomly assigned between 3 and 7 baseline sessions. The research findings showed that the clinical satisfaction of the clients with implementing the religious coping protocol was 93% and desirable. The research findings also showed that the improvement rate of all three clients based on the baseline mean reduction index was 36% and significant. In the intra-situational visual analysis, the level changes, stability changes, and trend changes in the intervention phase for all three clients were decreasing and stable. In the inter-situational visual analysis, the level changes and trend changes indicated a decreasing trend in stress for all three clients. Also, the effect size was measured using non-parametric methods of percentage of overlapping data and percentage of non-overlapping data, and the results indicate a very high effect (100 percent) in implementing the religious coping protocol on reducing the perceived stress of clients. Therefore, it is possible to use the religious coping protocol based on the Holy Quran for people with perceived stress, and this protocol can be used to examine its effectiveness in research groups.

Autism is one of the most pervasive neurodevelopmental disorders, significantly impacting both patients and their caregivers. When a child is diagnosed with autism, it can lead to numerous challenges and emotional struggles for caregivers, particularly mothers, making it difficult to accept the child's condition. However, some mothers manage to accept their children with these challenging conditions and remain committed to their care. This research is a qualitative phenomenological study using thematic analysis to investigate the worldview of mothers who exhibit high acceptance of their autistic children. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with nine mothers of autistic children. These mothers were selected through purposeful sampling, and the sampling continued until the responses reached saturation. The findings revealed that the worldview of the participating mothers encompasses three dimensions: a finite world, infinite life, and death anxiety. This type of worldview involves grappling with concepts such as fear of the future, the transience of life, and preparation for death. These factors significantly influence how these mothers accept and adapt to their children's condition.
